Question: In 1987, the Pontiac Silverdome drew two of the biggest indoor crowds in US history. What were they?

Answer: WrestleMania III and a Mass with Pope John Paul II. About 93,000 fans packed the dome for WrestleMania in March, but that September, the Pope edged out Hulk Hogan with an even bigger crowd. It remained the Silverdome’s largest crowd ever, right up until the stadium was demolished in 2017.
