Question: For much of the Model T’s production run, Henry Ford offered it in only one color, a policy he summed up with a famous line in his 1922 autobiography. What color?
Answer: Black. Ford wrote that a customer “can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.” From 1914 through 1925, Model Ts were offered only in black, a choice that helped streamline production. Earlier Model Ts came in colors including red and green.
